Poetry

Tainted glass

Snow falls upon the glass
As my breath melts
Like it’s my last
Cracks appear in broken mirrors
As reflective souls
Trickle and glimmer

Light bleeds inside
An empty chamber
A head full of memories
Escaping like butterflies
Into the air

Hourglass

The heavens crack open
As the hourglass falls from the sky
Unleashing a sea of flies
Shattering like a movement sublime

As sunset bleeds into autumn
In the stillness of the night
Memories dissolve like snow
Peeling back the years
As soldiers raise their broken glasses
Drinking down their tears

Demons

Battling demons
Trying to put them to bed
Burying their hissing faces
Around me
As High Priestesses
Circulate above my head

Dropping my rosaries
Splintering over the floor
Left glowing red
Glittering
In the blood orange sunset

Cross and bone

Crucifix bleeds with rust
Hanging by the shattered
Underpass of the heart

Pumping with valves on fire
Desire burning
Like the slashed tyres
Of a car

Abandoned scrapheap of souls
Melting away
Into the wasteland of the mind

Doomsday

Satellite orbits the night sky
As telegraph wires
Wrap around the face of the moon

Eye of a hawk
An astronaut debunked from his mission
Left dangling powerless in submission

Suspended in space
In a spiders web
Silver threads glistening
As stars illuminate
Behind my head

Rocket fuels the heart
As warheads hurtle
Out of control

The nuclear firework display explodes
Crackling down below
Coma white light
Incinerating the planets surface with fire
The Earths blue face screaming
Dissolving like a sizzling capsule
Of hope

Now I’m left up here all alone
In peace
And where the Earth used to lie beneath my feet
Is nothing more
Than an abyss of stars
